Gurgaon: Summer has left but for residents of Sushant Lok- 1, the water crisis associated with it hasn't. The erratic supply of water in the area is due to a valve that has malfunctioned at the C-block water boosting station and hasn't been fixed for the past 10 days.
Holding MCG accountable for not addressing the issue timely despite multiple complaints, Pradeep Arora, a 70-year-old resident, said, "I have been chasing officials for days to get the valve repaired, but there has been no progress. It will not take more than a day to fix, but they have ignored the complaint for 10 days now. We are forced to depend on water tankers to manage our daily needs."
Residents note that poor maintenance of the boosting station has led to recurring problems, including damaged electrical panels, deteriorating wires, and malfunctioning motors. They further said that the boosting station requires a major overhaul—a demand they have made with the MCG multiple times but to no avail.
Deepak Verma, RWA president of Sushant Lok-1, said that around 100 families are severely affected due to the water crisis, especially the ones at the end of the supply network. "This is not a new problem; the station's state has been deteriorating for some time now with aging motors and other equipment. We have raised this matter repeatedly, but there has been no action on part of the civil body," he said.
Meanwhile, MCG chief engineer Manoj Yadav acknowledged the issue and said, "I will direct the officials to get the fault fixed promptly."
