Prayagraj: A joint team of Kotwali police and STF (Prayagraj unit) on Sunday arrested a criminal identified as Anshu Gupta, a resident of Meerganj near Lalit Nagar Pani Tanki Road, while he was planning to escape. Wanted in connection with a kidnapping and murder case, he carried a Rs 50,000 cash reward on his head.
Police said that seven of the accused involved in a murder case were arrested earlier, while Anshu was evading arrest since April 2022. A group of seven persons allegedly kidnapped and murdered a 23-year-old youth from the city and dumped his body near the Dramondganj hill area in Mirzapur.
