New Delhi: BJP held a meeting with a group of farmers and residents of rural villages at a mahapanchayat in northwest Delhi's Kanjhawala on Sunday, assuring them of full support in addressing their demands.
BJP leaders, including MPs Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Yogendra Chandoli, Kamajeet Sehrawat, and Leader of Opposition in Delhi assembly Vijender Gupta, assured villagers they would soon meet LG VK Saxena to discuss their concerns.
Farmers in rural Delhi have been protesting for several days, demanding immediate implementation of Delhi Master Plan 2041, revisions to land pooling and Green Development Authority policies, changes to Delhi Development Act of 1957, abolition of sections 81A and 34A from Delhi Land Reforms Act, and an increase in the circle rate for land to be acquired from residents in rural areas..
Bidhuri said they requested farmers to end their protest and assured of an early resolution to their grievances. He added that some issues were already discussed with LG, including restoration of the mutation facility, approval of Rs 960 crore for village development, removal of the requirement for an NOC from DDA for electricity connections, and ensuring gram sabha land is used only for villagers.
