Jaipur: State Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra on Saturday campaigned in Khinvsar in favour of the party's candidate, Ratan Choudhary, for the upcoming assembly bypoll there and said Congress has always prioritised the people's needs over political gains.
"This is Tejaji's land, a place where our ancestors secured rights for farmers. Congress continuously worked for all communities without discrimination," he said in his address at a gathering, accusing BJP of neglect and claiming its governance in Rajasthan has meant a rise in inflation and unmet promises.
Former Union minister Jitendra Singh and Leader of Opposition in assembly Tikaram Jully campaigned in Ramgarh and expressed confidence about Congress's victory, giving credit for it to the development work done by the late MLA Zubair Khan. Jully led a large tractor and bike rally with youths pledging to support the party's candidate Aryan Khan, who is Zubair's son. "This bypoll is a tribute to our leaders' dedication to public service. Ramgarh's youth are determined to uphold this legacy," said Jully.
Congress functionaries accused BJP of failing to deliver on promises such as reducing fuel prices, supporting MSP for crops, and providing jobs. They called upon the public to vote for progress, dignity and a govt that genuinely serves people's interests.
"In the last ten months, BJP's rule has seen no progress – no new schemes, no relief from inflation, and no jobs. They made promises but delivered nothing tangible," said Dotasra.
