Gorakhpur: As by-elections in the state draw near, Congress has joined the ongoing poster war between BJP and SP with its own series of hoardings in the district.
Earlier this week, BJP Youth Wing leader Abhay Singh had put up hoardings across Gorakhpur featuring CM Yogi's slogan ‘Batange to Katange' and in response, SP leader Mrityunjay Yadav Bittu and former state secretary Ashutosh Gupta quickly put up SP's ‘Judenge to Badhenge' hoardings.
The SP leaders accused BJP of divisive politics. Congress's poster hoardings, put up by former Gorakhpur University student leader and Indian Youth Congress state secretary Manish Ojha proclaim, ‘Na Batenge, Na Katenge… Hum Ek Hain Aur Ek Rahenge' and ‘Nafrat ke Bazaar Mein Mohabbat ki Dukaan Khol Raha Hoon Main'.
Along with the hoardings, Ojha released a video statement condemning BJP's "divisive" rhetoric. Referring specifically to CM Yogi's "Batenge to Katenge" remark, Ojha accused BJP of dividing people on caste and religion lines and distracting public from real issues during elections. Ojha advised Yogi to refrain from divisive remarks, emphasising that a leader of the country's largest state should focus on unity rather than delivering statements that could foster division.
