Bathinda: Amidst allegations that more supplies of diammonium phosphate (DAP) were landing in the assembly constituencies facing byelections, BJP candidate from Barnala Kewal Singh Dhillon on Friday claimed that the villages in the assembly constituency were not getting adequate quantity of the fertiliser.
Dhillon said witnessing the problems being faced by the farmers, he had taken up the matter with Union chemicals and fertilisers minister J P Nadda. The Union minister immediately made the way for adequate supplies of the DAP, and it reached the Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS), he said.
Even one more train rake is on the way to Barnala, which is expected to reach by late evening or early Saturday. The delivery will ensure that the farmers don’t face any hardships in wheat and potato sowing, said Dhillon.
He said the BJP was committed to the welfare of every section of society, mainly the farmers and their issues were being addressed.
