Bhilwara: The state govt on Friday signed 143 memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with companies worth Rs 10,340 crore during an event under the Rising Rajasthan summit in Bhilwara. The proposed investments are likely to create 23,000 jobs in the district.
The event was attended by district in-charge minister Dr Manju Baghmar, Bhilwara collector Namit Mehta, along with industrialists, administrative officials, and public representatives.
District Industries Centre general manager KK Meena said that most MoUs (62) were in the textile sector, with proposed investments of Rs 4,621 crore, providing employment to 9,320 people. In the iron and steel sector, six MoUs worth Rs 2,661 crore will provide employment to 7,590 people.
Similarly, in the agro and food sector, 11 MoUs worth Rs 33 crore, in the medical sector, seven MoUs worth Rs 371 crore, in the mining sector, 11 MoUs worth Rs 1,824 crore, in the tourism sector, 10 MoUs worth Rs 809 crore, in the furniture sector, three MoUs worth Rs 12 crore, in the plastic sector, two MoUs worth Rs 9 crore, in the petroleum sector, seven MoUs worth Rs 159 crore, and other sectors totalling 24 MoUs worth Rs 337 crore, amounting to a total of 143 MOUs worth 10,840 crore rupees, are proposed.
For the establishment of industries in the district, 11 industrial areas have been developed by RIICO.
Additional general manager of RIICO, PR Meena, said that 11 industrial areas have been developed by RIICO for the establishment of industries in the district, including Biliya Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3, Phase 4, RIICO Extension, Industrial Estate, Growth Center Hamirgarh, Begod, Kanyakhedi, Karanpura, Ukhlia, and Bijolia.
