Ranchi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday stated that it has received 2,60,218 applications from polling staff, service personnel, people aged 85 years and above, and those with more than 40 percent physical disability for voting through postal ballots in upcoming assembly elections.
So far, 55,568 voters including 52,186 polling staffs, 2,922 home voters (people aged 85 years and above and those with more than 40 percent physical disability) and 460 persons from essential services have cast their ballots, the commission added. TNN
