Udupi: An 81-year-old pedestrian died after he was hit by a private bus on Friday. In a complaint, Suryanarayana from Tenkanidiyur village in Udupi, said the incident took place when his uncle, Gopal, was crossing the road near Garadimajal Veeramaruti Bhajana Mandira in Tenkanidiyur village. Chetan Kumar, the driver of a private bus allegedly drove negligently and hit Gopal. He fell on the road, sustained injuries, and became unconscious. He was taken to Udupi District Govt Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A case was registered at Malpe police station in this connection.
