Patiala: As part of its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has registered a case against Beenu Verma, a resident of Dhuri town in Sangrur district.
A spokesperson for the state VB said the case was registered based on a complaint filed by Amandeep, alias Kaalu, a resident of Rohti village in Patiala district, on the CM’s anti-corruption action line.
He said the complainant alleged an official of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Patiala was trying to implicate him in a false case, when Beenu Verma approached him, boasted of her connections with ANTF officials and asked for Rs 7 lakh to settle the matter.
