Ranchi: Ajsu-P, an NDA alliance member, unveiled its ‘Sakalp Patra' on Friday, presenting 30 commitments aimed at societal groups, including youths, women, farmers and the poor, but gave a conspicuous miss to the issue of the Bangladeshi infiltration, the major poll plank of its lead partner BJP.
The party, however, said its pollpromises were endorsed by other NDA partners.
JMM criticised Ajsu-P, saying the NDA ally has differences with BJP when it comes to other policy matters.
Party leader Sudesh Mahto said, "Our resolutions are based on local aspirations of the people of Jharkhand. The party is not making only promises but has plans on ways to implement them in a time-bound manner. The plans would be implemented for Rs 50,000 crore, which could be mobilized by preventing the misuse and exploitation of our resources."
Mahto highlighted that the party prioritises youth welfare, saying they are disappointed with the current dispensation.
The commitments include filling govt job vacancies within a year, introducing vocational education, paid govt internships, lasting one to three years, implementing the local resident policy based on recent surveys, ensuring Rs 1.21 lakh annual family income, providing free irrigation and electricity to farmers, establishing 50% women's reservation in positions, allocating Rs 10,000 monthly to the families of the Jharkhand statehood movement martyrs', offering Rs 2,500 pension schemes, establishing working women's accommodation, and issuing comprehensive land documentation.
Additional promises included tripling farmers' agricultural income in a decade, setting paddy MSP at Rs 3200 per quintal, extending MNREGA benefits, establishing a sports university at Khelgaon, creating a backward class ministry, recognising the Sarna Code, investigating illegal activities and promoting regional heritage.
Attacking the Hemant Soren-led INDIA bloc govt, Mahto said the current dispensation is "undermining the state identity and administrative efficiency".
The party's chief spokesperson, Dev Saran Bhagat, confirmed NDA partners' endorsement of Ajsu-P's poll document.
JMM general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya mocked the NDA ally, saying despite contesting only 10 seats, it's making a long list of commitments. Bhattacharya said the Ajsu-P document also made it clear that it has huge policy differences with BJP when it comes to infiltration, local resident policy cut-off dates, women welfare schemes and PESA implementation.
"While BJP wants 1985 as the cut-off date to define local residents, Ajsu-P wants survey settlements as the basis. For the women's scheme, BJP is promising Rs 2,100 per month under its Go Go Didi Yojna but Ajsu-P promises Rs 2,500. While BJP does not recognize PESA, Ajsu-P wants to implement it strictly," he pointed out.
