SUGA from BTS, well-known for his solo work under the moniker Agust D, has achieved a significant milestone with his second mixtape, D-2. The album is the first hip-hop album of the 2020s to achieve this feat, since it has topped the iTunes Worldwide Chart in an astounding 110 rehions.

D-2, which was released on May 22, 2020, represented a major turning point in August D’s musical growth. This follow-up to his 2016 self-titled debut mixtape captures SUGA’s thoughts on his life and the world around him by fusing modern rap with traditional Korean music components.
The album’s reflective themes address current issues while examining contrasts within his personal experiences, and its lyrics are a combination of Korean and English. Daechwita, the first track, demonstrates SUGA’s inventiveness and capacity to cross cultural divides by fusing traditional Korean melodies with a contemporary rap touch.
.D-2 achieved the highest-ever position for a Korean solo mixtape and peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard 200, making it a commercial success on international music charts. As the highest-charting mixtape by a Korean solo artist in both the UK and Australia, it also created history in those countries. With its No. 76 Billboard Hot 100 debut, Daechwita was a chart-topping hit, making SUGA the first Korean solo artist to appear on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 at the same time.
