Ranchi: The district police have arrested a man named Rajan with two country made pistols and cartridges each while he was trying to sell them to the Kotwali deputy SP Prakash Soy, who was pretending as purchaser, near Akhada Chowk in Purani Ranchi on Wednesday afternoon.
City SP Raj Kumar Mehta informed media persons that three empty magazines and a scooty were also seized in the operation. He said that investigation is going on to find involvement of other persons including a candidate for state assembly election in the arms supply.
The accused person was offering a pistol for Rs 45,000 to the Dy SP when the later caught him. TNN
