Udupi: A woman allegedly died by suicide on Wednesday, as she was not able to manage work following childbirth, stated sources. The deceased is Prasanna,29. According to police, Prasanna married on Dec 2, 2022, and was the mother of a 10-month-old daughter. Her husband works in Bengaluru.
In a complaint, her mother said that Prasanna often called her, sharing that while her in-laws treated her well, she was unprepared for motherhood, and felt it was too early, as she was unable to balance work and family responsibilities. She was undergoing treatment for these challenges. Between 10am and 1.45pm, she allegedly took her life at her husband's residence. A case has been registered at the Karkala Rural police station.
