Kanpur: Traffic diversions for Chhath Puja celebrations will be effective from 3pm on November 7 until the end of festivities on November 8 at multiple sites.
Heavy and medium-sized vehicles travelling towards Atal Ghat and Badi Karbala must avoid Ganga Barrage intersection, instead routing through S. Kothari and Mandhana intersections. The stretch between Company Bagh intersection and Bima intersection, Jajmau, and VIP Road is closed for all vehicles. Traffic from Gurudev intersection should utilise Gol intersection instead of Mainawati Road when heading towards Karbala intersection.
Four-wheelers from Phoolbagh should use Bada intersection, avoiding right turns at Meghdoot intersection for Sarsaiya Ghat. Vehicles from Greenpark should travel via MG College or Madhuban intersection, avoiding right turns at DAV intersection.
Larger vehicles from Kalyanpur Awas Vikas Chowki must route through Maswanpur and Vijay Nagar intersection. Vehicles from Panki Padav railway crossing should use New Transport Nagar and LML intersection. Traffic from New Transport Nagar intersection should proceed via Gas Plant and LML intersection.
Vehicles near Nandlal and CTI intersections must use Gaushala intersection. Traffic from Barra Bypass should use Naubasta intersection, whilst vehicles from Mayank intersection must use Gujaini police post. Traffic from Gujaini should route through Gujaini Govt Hospital.
Authorised parking locations include roadside parking at Karbala intersection to Karbala Mosque, Bakkal (Parmat) parking facility, area near Dial 112 control room, roadside parking from Sarsaiya Ghat to Chetna intersection, Ramleela ground by Gujaini Chowki, Ambedkar Park near Mayank intersection, left roadside from Armapur to Vijay Nagar intersection, and left roadside from Awas Vikas Canal Panki to Kalyan Crossing.
