Salem: Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president and Sriperumbudur MLA K Selvaperunthagai asserted that the INDIA bloc was intact and said it would contest the 2026 assembly election as part of the DMK-led coalition in Tamil Nadu.
"No one can destroy this bloc. DMK-Congress alliance is strong in the state," Selvaperunthagai said while addressing reporters in Edappadi on Tuesday.
"Democracy means pointing out mistakes and appreciating and welcoming good schemes of the government. We cannot assume there are fissures in the INDIA bloc just because some people air their views. Our alliance is intact," he said.
Selvaperunthagai hit out Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that he has failed to protect the country's integrity. "Our external affairs policy is a total failure. Our neighbouring countries have turned hostile towards us. Even small countries like Bhutan and Nepal don't respect us," he said.
