Chennai: NTK chief coordinator Seeman on Monday condemned the DMK govt for making Hindi compulsory in recruiting call responders to work in call centres set up to help women in distress.
In a statement, Seeman said the DMK govt is promoting the three-language policy by making Hindi compulsory in its recruitment. In the past 50 years, only Tamil and English were taught in TN; now if Hindi is made compulsory, how can women in TN get the job, he asked.
Minister for social welfare P Geetha Jeevan reacted that the recruitment notice was removed and a fresh notice that mandates only English and Tamil has been uploaded. The minister said the official responsible for the mess was placed under suspension and departmental action initiated.
