GAIL's revenue hits Rs 66,622 cr in H1 FY25, profit after tax climbs to Rs 5,396 crore

New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited on Tuesday reported Revenue from Operations of Rs 66,622 crore for the April-September 2024 period, compared to Rs 64,050 crore in the same period last fiscal. Profit Before Tax (PBT) rose to Rs 7,095 crore in H1 FY25 from Rs 5,019 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Profit After Tax (PAT) climbed to Rs 5,396 crore from Rs 3,817 crore, marking the company’s highest-ever half-yearly EBITDA, PBT, and PAT.

Quarterly figures showed a slight dip in revenue, with GAIL posting Rs 32,931 crore in Revenue from Operations in Q2 FY25, down from Rs 33,692 crore in Q1. PBT stood at Rs 3,453 crore in Q2 compared to Rs 3,642 crore in the previous quarter, while PAT was recorded at Rs 2,672 crore, a decrease from Rs 2,724 crore in Q1.

GAIL’s Petrochemical segment registered a turnaround with a PBT of Rs 157 crore in Q2 FY25, against a loss of Rs 42 crore in the previous quarter. CMD Sandeep Kumar Gupta stated that the segment is expected to remain profitable through FY 2024-25.

On a consolidated basis, GAIL’s Revenue from Operations reached Rs 68,803 crore in H1 FY25, up from Rs 65,898 crore in H1 FY24. Consolidated PBT stood at Rs 7,583 crore, while PAT (excluding non-controlling interest) was Rs 5,876 crore, a rise from Rs 4,236 crore in H1 FY24.

The company’s capital expenditure for the current quarter was Rs 1,885 crore, bringing the cumulative capex to Rs 3,544 crore in H1 FY25, mainly directed towards Pipelines and Petrochemicals.
