MADIKERI: Kodagu district police filed a case following the death of a cow due to electrocution in Kongana village near B Shettigeri.
Though the cow died while grazing on the roadside, villagers alleged that the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) staff did not respond to the complaint, which forced them to approach the cops.
Villagers lodged a complaint at the Gonikoppal police station, following which the CESC staff reached the spot in the evening.
President of B. Shettigeri Gram Panchayat, Kollira Bopanna, visited the spot and expressed his displeasure over the negligence of the CESC.
