Kota: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Bundi arrested a field officer of State Bank of India (SBI) on Monday after catching him red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 on the bank branch's premises.
The officer, Lalit Kumar Parashar, had demanded the bribe for sanctioning a loan of Rs 8 lakh under Kisan Samriddhi Yojana to a farmer, said Prerna Shekhawat, ASP, ACB, Bundi.
The complainant, Mahendra Meena, had lodged a complaint with ACB Bundi through the agency's helpline number 1064 on Sept 18 this year, Shekhawat said. ACB verified the allegation the following day on Sept 19 and then again on Oct 28, she said.
Questioning of the arrested officer is in progress, she added. tnn
