Aizawl: After 286 days, covering 28 states and 5 Union Territories, Mizoram's Vanlallawmzuala Varte, known for his advocacy of clean air and sustainable lifestyles, returned to Durtlang, Aizawl, this afternoon. A welcoming event, organised by the Mizoram Pollution Control Board under the supervision of member secretary C Lalduhawma, was held at MC Hall in Durtlang.
At the event, Vanlallawmzuala Varte shared his experiences and challenges faced during his cross-country cycling journey, titled the All India Cycle Tour, undertaken to raise awareness for clean air. He commended the efforts of Pollution Control Board officials, missionaries, and government employees across states for their dedicated support and commitment to environmental causes. He also expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him throughout his journey.
Representatives from NGOs, environmental activists, and various organizations gathered at MC Hall in Durtlang, on the northern outskirts of Aizawl, to honour Varte's achievement.
