Ranchi: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Monday suspended a head constable Rajesh and sought permission from their senior paramilitary authorities for similar action against an assistant commandant in the blank firing case in Simdega town on Sunday.
Accused CISF head constable Rajesh, who was accompanied by the assistant commandant, fired in the air around 9:30 pm on Sunday.
Preliminary investigation reveals that both were in an intoxicated state. The authorities were waiting for the medical report of the two accused, police said.
Deputy inspector general of the CISF, Sumant Singh, on Monday said he, along with CISF commandant Harendra Narayan, visited the spot of incident and interacted with Simdega SP Saurav and the CISF officer deployed for election duty in the area, the DIG added.
He stated, “As an immediate step, the head constable has been suspended and necessary approval to suspend the other personnel has been sought. A detailed enquiry is also under way, based on which exemplary disciplinary action would be initiated against both of them.”
Simdega SP Saurav said an FIR has been registered.
