Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB), which conducted the constable recruitment test on Aug 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31, 2024, has released the final answer keys for the exam.
Initially, answer keys for all 10 shifts were posted on the board's official website from Sep 11 to Sep 19, 2024, inviting candidates to raise evidence-based objections. In response, objections were raised on 70 questions, out of which 25 were nullified with a rider that their marks would be given in accordance with the related Allahabad High Court directive.
Another 29 questions, which had multiple-choice options, will be given full marks. Answer options for the remaining 16 questions have been updated. Candidates can review the final answer keys on the official website until Nov 9.
The list of eligible candidates for Document Verification (DV) and Physical Standard Test (PST) will soon be available on uppbpb.gov.in.
The process to submit applications for the 60,244 posts of police constable started on Dec 27, 2023. Thereafter, around 48 lakh applications were received, with 15 lakh women candidates. Exams took place on Feb 17 and Feb 18 in two shifts spanning 2,385 centres across 75 districts in the state.
Later, students protested, and social media went viral over paper leaks. Following this, CM Yogi Adityanath cancelled the police recruitment examination 'to maintain the sanctity of the screening exercise' and tasked the STF to probe the allegations of paper leak.
The state govt also removed Renuka Mishra, the chairperson of the UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board. Rajeev Krishna was appointed as the new DG.
Thereafter, on March 15, the STF arrested three employees of a Gujarat-based transportation company given the task of distributing the UP police constable question paper, along with 397 others from five states of India.
