Ludhiana: Deputy commissioner Jitendra Jorwal, along with SSP Khanna Ashwani Gotyal and SSP Ludhiana Rural Navneet Singh Bains, urged all nodal and cluster officers to work diligently to ensure that the anti-stubble burning message reaches every farmer in the area at the grassroots level.
During a meeting with 211 nodal officers, 90 cluster officers, and their police counterparts at Guru Nanak Bhawan, the DC and both SSPs emphasised the importance of reaching out to every farmer to discourage stubble burning. Jorwal encouraged the officers to spread the message in their respective areas to promote a cleaner environment.
He referenced the upcoming Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and urged farmers to follow his teachings by addressing the stubble burning issue in the state.

Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal introduced a WhatsApp Chatbot to help Ludhiana farmers with stubble management. Farmers can access information on machinery usage, subsidies, and availability through the Chatbot. Officials are also tasked with educating farmers on soil health benefits of proper stubble disposal. The Supreme Court has issued strict measures against burning paddy stubble to protect the environment.
