Ludhiana: A long-standing family dispute turned deadly on Sunday here when a 50-year-old man from Suraj Nagar, Nirmal Singh, was killed in a sword attack by his cousin, identified as a Nihang.
Police claim that Jatinder Singh, the accused, assaulted Nirmal and several others in a violent clash linked to a year-old rivalry. This attack in Shimlapuri also injured Nirmal’s brother Manjit Singh and friends Vijay, Vishwanjit, and Balraj Singh, who had tried to save him.
