NEW DELHI: The Delhi bar associations' committee has decided to observe a strike today in response to an alleged assault on a lawyer in Ghaziabad.
On Oct 29, a confrontation erupted in a Ghaziabad courtroom between lawyers and police officers purportedly carrying batons after the judge summoned police to disperse lawyers who were protesting against him over a dispute.
The lawyers reported sustaining injuries from police baton charges, whilst police officials stated that the protesting advocates had set fire to a local police outpost.
