Following sexual harassment allegations by female police staff against the former SP in Jind, multiple transfers have taken place within the police department. The accused SP, Sumit Kumar, has been moved to the Railways in Ambala, while the DSP and SHO of the Women's Police Station have also been transferred. Kumar denies the allegations, calling them a conspiracy.

JIND: Following the transfer of the SP after allegations of sexual harassment by female police staff, the DSP and station in-charge, both female have also been transferred.
Former SP Sumit Kumar has been transferred to the position of SP in the Railways in Ambala district. Now, Jind's DSP Geetika Jakhar has been transferred to the Police Training College in Madhuban. Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Mukesh Devi, who was posted as SHO at the Jind Women’s Police Station, has been sent to the Third Battalion HAP in Hisar.
It is pertinent to mention a letter of four pages that went viral on social media platforms on October 25 alleging sexual harassment by then SP with the help of two female officers of Jind police. In this, seven female police personnel had written a letter to chief minister Nayab Singh Saini, DGP and other officials allegedly accusing former SP Sumit Kumar of sexual harassment.
However, Sumit Kumar stated that no complainant had come forward to make such allegations against him and claimed it was a major conspiracy against him.
Meanwhile, the Haryana Women’s Commission took cognizance of the matter after it surfaced on social media and in the media, summoning SP Sumit Kumar to present his case.
After hearing Kumar's side, the Women’s Commission wrote to the chief minister recommending that until the investigation is complete, he should either be sent on leave or transferred to police headquarters.
Following this letter from the Women’s Commission, the state government transferred several district police chiefs, issuing orders to replace Sumit Kumar as Jind SP and appoint him as SP in the Railways. Rajesh Kumar has been appointed as the new SP in Jind in place of Sumit Kumar.
