Prayagraj: Efforts are underway to complete the restoration of all the city's historic temples by the end of this month. With barely two months left before the beginning of the 2025 Maha Kumbh, the Mela authorities have sped up the restoration work for the timely completion of the projects.
Three key departments, including the tourism department, Smart City, and Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA), are collaborating closely to finish all restoration projects.
The tourism department is currently overseeing 15 temple corridors and renovation projects, with 14 set for completion by Nov 15 and the final project by Nov 30.
Key projects nearing completion include the Bhardwaj Corridor, Mankameshwar Temple Corridor, Dwadash Madhav Temple, Padila Mahadev Temple, Alop Shankari Temple, and nine additional temples.
Meanwhile, the Smart City initiative is advancing three major projects, all slated for completion by Nov 15. These include the Akshayavat Corridor, Saraswati Koop Corridor, and Patalpuri Corridor.
Additionally, the Prayagraj Development Authority is finalising two projects: the renovation of Nagvasuki Temple, targeted for Nov 30, and the Hanuman Temple Corridor, set to be completed by Dec 10. Vivek Chaturvedi, ADM (Kumbh Mela), told TOI, "Hectic preparations are underway in view of the 2025 Maha Kumbh. Majority of projects will be completed on their fixed deadline." He further adds, "The temple corridor and renovation work are also in their final stages."
