Help me get rid of mosquitoes (anything except zapper racquet)

So my younger one is dengue positive and I want to now declare war on mosquitoes. I already have zapper racquet but I want a solution that works better.
I cannot use allout / goodknight as my kid is allergic.
What options do I have? May be turn on some device in my bedroom and close everything and ensure all mosquitoes die and later on I am ok to keep machine on or off when going for sleeping. Do those violet light like things work?

Please suggest a very effective way of getting rid of mosquitoes.
Also, my wife has put some plants in pots just outside bedroom window, are they also possibly contributing to mosquitoes coming?

Some plants may repel mosquitoes, so try those. Don't think plants alone can cause this issue.
