Noida: Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital in Noida's Sector 24 inaugurated its new blood bank on Friday. The facility will cater exclusively to ESIC members and have a projected annual capacity of 5,000 units of blood. The blood bank will operate on a donation-based model, allowing ESIC beneficiaries to access blood free of cost.
The facility will provide in-house blood access for ESIC beneficiaries, addressing a longstanding need for timely availability.
"This blood bank is exclusively for ESIC members, ensuring they receive blood when needed," said Dr. Sona Bedi, deputy medical superintendent (DMS) at ESIC. The bank will operate on a donation-based model, offering blood at no cost to ESIC beneficiaries, she added.
ESIC has also announced plans to hold regular blood donation camps to maintain a steady supply. tnn
