Hyderabad: Four people, including two children, died in a road accident following a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a tractor in Potharum, Medak district, on Saturday night. Local police reported that Manne Anjaneyulu (40), his sister-in-law Manne Lavanya, and Lavanya's daughters, Sanvi (9) and Sahasra (7), were killed on the spot.
According to police, Anjaneyulu was riding the bike when a tractor approached from the opposite direction. Local farmers had spread wet grains on the road to dry, which may have contributed to the accident. "We are investigating whether one of the drivers attempted to avoid the grains and veered into the opposite lane, resulting in the collision," a police spokesperson said.
DSP Venkat Reddy stated that Anjaneyulu was en route to drop Lavanya and her daughters at the local bus stand on Sanga Reddy X Road when the accident occurred. Lavanya was headed to visit her parents for a function.
