Hisar: Diwali in Adampur marked a shift in tradition this year as the town saw two separate gatherings, following the recent electoral defeat that ended the Bishnoi family’s decades-long political stronghold.
Legislator Chandra Prakash hosted a meet-and-greet with constituents at the PWD rest house, while the Bishnoi family held a parallel event at their residence. At both gatherings, the politicians shared laddus as sweets as they greeted and thanked their supporters. Former MP Kuldeep Bishnoi of BJP told the gathering at his residence that his bond with Adampur’s people transcended politics and remained rooted in family ties. Despite his son’s narrow defeat, Bishnoi assured the people of Adamput that development projects in the constituency would continue.
BJP youth leader Bhavya Bishnoi, former MLA Renuka Bishnoi, Nalwa MLA Randhir Panihar, and other members of the Bishnoi family attended the event. Bhavya announced plans to visit villages across the constituency starting Nov 2, to discuss the election loss and thank voters for support.
Meanwhile, Chandra Prakash, Adampur’s MLA, met constituents at the PWD rest house, extending them Diwali and Vishwakarma Day wishes. He pledged to prioritise infrastructure and development in Adampur. He claimed that delayed procurement and inadequate arrangements at the grain makets of Balsamand and Adampur Mandi had added to farmers’ woes.
