NEW DELHI: Actor Darshan has been admitted to a private hospital in Kengeri, Bengaluru, due to back pain. His wife, Vijayalakshmi, accompanied him. Darshan, known for his roles in Kannada cinema, was recently granted interim bail on medical grounds by the Karnataka High Court. He was arrested for the alleged murder of his fan Renukaswamy.
Dr. Naveen Appaji Gowda, who is treating Darshan, stated, “His left leg is weak. We are thinking about what can be done next. We haven't started any investigation. We have only done examinations. After the examination, we have ordered an investigation. After the investigation, we will get to know what exactly has happened.”
Doctors are planning to conduct MRI, X-Ray, and blood tests. Dr. Gowda mentioned that they need to repeat the MRI as they did not receive Darshan's previous medical reports. He added, “We did not get his previous MRI films and test reports. So, we need to do an MRI once again. We have to admit him.”
Further medical reports will determine if an operation is necessary or if physiotherapy will suffice. “After the investigation, we will get to know what the problem is, whether the operation is required or physiotherapy is sufficient,” Dr. Gowda said.
Darshan and actor Pavithra Gowda are facing charges related to the kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy. The state submitted medical reports from doctors at Ballari Central Prison and a government hospital in Ballari.
Following his release on October 30, Darshan visited his wife’s home in Hosakere village, Tumukuru. Fans gathered in large numbers outside the house, and Darshan's son, Vineesh, asked them to disperse, citing a gag order from the high court. Fans also crowded the hospital in Kengeri where Darshan was admitted on Friday.
