New Delhi: At least 12 people sustained minor injuries in different fire incidents in the city within 48 hours.
In Chhawla, a fire broke out on a bus on Thursday because of firecrackers. "One of the passengers was carrying a small quantity of firecrackers. These crackers caught fire, causing burn injuries to the person carrying them and a co-passenger sitting beside him. There was no indication of an explosion," a police officer said.
Another incident took place in Nangloi, where a fire broke out at a tent house around 3am. Four people were rescued. A fire department officer said that they were unconscious and rescued before the firefighters arrived. Eight vehicles were sent to the spot, he added.
In another incident, a fire broke out at a first-floor flat of an apartment in west Delhi's Vikaspuri on Friday. The incident took place around 5 am. Two men were rescued and rushed to the hospital. The fire damaged several domestic articles. The fire department team had to break a window to access the flat.
In Anand Parbat, four people were injured in a house fire on Thursday. In another incident, a fire occurred at a computer hardware shop in east Delhi's Shakarpur. The video of the incident shows a heavy blaze coming out from the building. A short circuit probably triggered this fire.
A three-storey house and a showroom caught minor fires in Kalkaji and Nirman Vihar, respectively. In both these cases, no one was injured.
