Hassan: A 38-year-old man and his 12-year-old daughter died on the spot, while the man's wife sustained serious injuries when a car hit them on their return from Hasanamba temple, near Thanirhalla, here on Thursday.
Kumar and his daughter Kavya, along with Puttamma, Kumar's wife, were walking to their relatives' house in Vijayanagara after a darshan of the deity when they were hit by the speeding car.
Puttamma is currently being treated in a hospital, police said.
The family hails from NH Pura in Alur taluk. Hassan Town police visited the site and registered a case.
