Rajkot: A scrap trader from Rajkot, Baldev Sondarva, was cheated out of Rs 2 lakh by an executive who offered to get him a loan from a bank. Sondarva registered a complaint at Gandhigram police station against one Mahavir Solanki.
According to the FIR, Solanki asked Sondarva whether he needed a loan. Sondarva needed money for his sister's wedding and told Solanki to start the application process. Solanki allegedly took Sondarva's phone and changed the password of his UPI apps. Solanki also made Sondarva pay some fees, saying it was part of the loan process.
A loan of Rs 1.96 lakh was disbursed to Sondarva's account, which Solanki allegedly transferred to his own account using the Sondarva's banking credentials.
