Rajkot: In a freak incident, a 37-year-old mother of two, died after falling into an freight elevator carriage on Wednesday night.
The incident occurred in the apartment of tour operator Shailesh Pambhar in whose company the victim Rekha Rawrani was working.
Rawrani, a resident of Mandhata Society in Navagam, had gone to Pambhar's house, and was standing on the elevator. She lost her balance and got trapped between the wall and the elevator which got activated.
Emergency responders had to cut through the elevator's iron loader to recover her body.
University Police Station has registered the incident as an accidental death.
