Ayodhya: Five-hundred 'Made in India' drones illuminated Ayodhya's skyline, creating spectacular formations depicting Lord Ram, the newly built Ram temple, Pushpak Viman, Ravana and scenes from the Ramayan. This first-of-its-kind drone display took place at the Saryu riverbank during Wednesday's Deepotsav celebrations.
The 15-minute drone performance, accompanied by a laser show narrating the Ramayana, captivated the audience. The event also featured record-breaking achievements, including the lighting of the highest number of diyas ever and a synchronized Saryu aarti performed by more than 1,100 women. The festivities concluded with an environment-friendly fireworks display.
Spectators gathered in large numbers at Ram ki Paidi and on rooftops across the city, waiting for hours to witness this magnificent celebration in the night sky. The drone show began with formations of diyas in the sky, with yellow and white light denoting Deepotsav celebrations. It was followed by a grand formation of Lord Ram with bow and arrow, soon after which the venue echoed with loud cheers of 'Jai Shri Ram'.
"I have never experienced such a fantastic drone and laser show in my life. To put it rightly, it was 'avishwasniya' (unbelievable) and ‘adbhut' (wonderful)," said retired Lt Col (Retd) Suresh Sinha, who came from Delhi to witness the celebration. Soon after the formation Lord Ram's image, a giant Pushpak Viman and drone formation of Ravana with 10 heads and Lord Hanuman captivated viewers.
Meanwhile, over 25 lakh diyas lit up 55 ghats of Saryu, while the sky dazzled with drones, fireworks and a laser show.
