Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi on Thursday visited Porbandar in Gujarat where he received comprehensive briefings regarding operational preparedness and infrastructure enhancement initiatives, officials said.
He emphasised that Gujarat occupies a distinctive position not only in the country's rich maritime heritage and dynamic present, but also in the aspirations and possibilities of a magnificent future, according to a release by the Indian Navy.
"Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of Naval Staff, while visiting the forward sector of Gujarat, Daman & Diu Naval Area at Porbandar, received detailed briefings about operational readiness and infrastructure development projects intended to bolster maritime security in the region," the release stated.
While addressing naval, defence civilian and DSC personnel stationed in the forward area, the admiral extended Diwali greetings and commended their steadfast dedication and endeavours in safeguarding India's maritime security and national interests, it further stated.
"Emphasising Gujarat's distinctive position not only in our rich maritime legacy and vibrant present, but also regarding the promise and potential of a splendid future, the navy chief urged all personnel to remain vigilant and prepared to protect and advance our maritime interests consistently," the release stated.
He encouraged all personnel to maintain their focus on core responsibilities to nurture a combat ready, credible, cohesive and future-oriented Indian Navy, anytime, anywhere and anyhow, the release mentioned. PTI
