Udupi: A fisherman engaged in traditional fishing drowned in Beejadi village in Kundapur on Wednesday. The deceased is Sanjeev. In a complaint, the victim's brother said the incident took place when he was fishing in a mini Kairampani boat around 7.15 am at Chatrabettu, Beejadi village, when a strong wave capsized the boat.
Sanjeev fell into the sea and drowned. His companions pulled him out and rushed him to a hospital where doctors examined him and declared him dead around 7.30am. Kundapur police have registered a case.
