Patna: Union minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh on Tuesday took a dig at former deputy CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav for claiming that it was at his initiative that jobs were given to lakhs of youths under the Grand Alliance govt.
“He (Tejashwi) should first ask his parents, Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, how many jobs they had given to youths during their 15-year rule,” Singh said, when reminded by mediapersons about the claims of Tejashwi about job creation in the state.
Singh took jibes at Tejashwi on the sidelines of Rojgar Mela held here for the distribution of appointment letters among 217 selected candidates for jobs in the central govt. Former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was also present at the function.
The job fair was a part of the statewide Rojgar Mela functions organised to celebrate distribution of appointment letters among 51,000 youths, including 217 from Bihar. PM Narendra Modi addressed the functions through video conferencing.
Singh said, “Tejashwi should look into past records to find the number of youths who got jobs under the rule of his parents. Tejashwi does hollow talks, but we implement things.”
“Developmental initiatives under PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar have opened doors for growth and prosperity. We are not only providing govt jobs, but also creating diverse pathways for our youths to grow,” Singh said.
He said that lakhs of youths have already been absorbed in govt jobs, and also through opportunities created in the private sector as a result of development activities. “In the future too 12 lakh more jobs would be created,” he said.
