Ponda: As the new tourism season at Dudhsagar approaches its 25th day, Collem villagers offered prayers to the Dudhsagar deity hoping for a resolution in the ongoing dispute between the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) and the Dudhsagar Tour Operators’ Association (DTOA) over the GTDC counter and tourist registration portal.
Vehicle operators want the GTDC counter to be removed and the return of the website to their management.
The association blames a former chairman for handing over the portal to a Ponda-based service provider. They said that GTDC’s additional charges, which have increased the cost of a Dudhsagar lake safari by Rs 257 since January, have deterred tourists.
