Bhubaneswar: Police in Khurda district registered a case against a 24-year-old woman on Saturday for allegedly thrashing her 16-month-old daughter recently and sharing a video with her husband, a migrant worker, for allegedly not sending her money for one month. Ramesh Debata, IIC of Banapur police station, said Banita Nayak thrashed her child in anger against her husband, Bichitra, who works in Kerala, for allegedly neglecting them. The baby has been sent to a short-stay home, Debata said. Police will present the infant’s case before the district child welfare committee, who will decide on her future.TNN
