Varanasi: During his short stay in Kashi on Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at Kashi Vishwanath and Kaal Bhairav temples. He unveiled a 51ft tall idol of Lord Hanuman installed along LBSI Airport Road at Kazi Sarai in Harahua area.
Yogi conducted ‘pujan' and parikrama (circumambulation) of the idol before leaving for Lucknow. The Jai Hanuman Shri Peeth Trust-run temple's authorities apprised Yogi of features of the temple, mentioning the statue was carved by artisans from Rajasthan in two years as a symbol of faith for the people of Kashi.
Earlier, Yogi reached Kashi Vishwanath to offer prayers and seek blessing of the deity. He handed out candies to children gathered outside the temple, bringing smiles to their faces. The temple officials welcomed Yogi with a shawl and a memento. Later, he reached Kaal Bhairav temples and performed rituals.
