Nagpur: The All India Gems and Jewellery Domestic Council, an association of jewellery traders, has appealed to members to follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) issued by the ministry of commerce for the transport of jewellery and bullion during the elections, to avoid seizure due to the implementation of the model code of conduct.
The council has issued a list of documents that the members have been asked to carry during transit. These include the original tax invoice or delivery challan, e-way bill, and a certified stock summary. The person carrying the stock should also have an authorisation letter from the owner and a valid photo ID, says the council's letter.
