Jalandhar: Addressing a public meeting in support of AAP candidate Dr Ishank Kumar in the Chabbewal constituency on Sunday, chief minister Bhagwant Mann announced that his next mission was to provide women ₹1,100 every month.
He said that Ishank is a young candidate who understands local issues. “Make Ishank win, and whatever work he’ll bring to me, I will sign it immediately,” he said.
Addressing the women at the gathering, the CM remarked that mothers and sisters come only to AAP rallies because they know that this government cares for their needs. “Otherwise, for going to SAD, Congress rallies they demand wages,” he quipped.
Targeting the Akali Dal, Mann said that those who claimed they would rule for 25 years now could not even find four candidates. He accused them of using Gurbani and Guru Nanak for their political gain. “The Akali Dal members are calling Sukhbir Badal a jarnail (general), but they should explain what battles he has fought. He has only caused chaos and harm in both Punjab and the Akali Dal. If the Akali Dal had contested without Sukhbir Badal, they would have received more votes,” he said.
Attacking the Congress, Mann said that they fought for power, while AAP fought for the better future of the children of commoners.
Ishank’s father and Hoshiarpur MP Dr Raj Kumar Chbbewal said that work done under Mann govt was unprecedented.
