Kanpur: Indeevar Bajpai and Amit Singh have been elected as the president and general secretary of the Kanpur Bar Association, respectively, on Saturday.
Indeevar Bajpai triumphed over his closest competitor, Dinesh Shukla, by a substantial margin of 533 votes. Bajpai garnered the support and votes of approximately 2067 advocate members, while Dinesh Shukla secured 1534 votes. Sarvesh Kushwaha, the former general secretary of KBA, secured the third position with 625 votes.
Amit Singh emerged victorious for the post of general secretary with 1293 votes. Despite facing a formidable challenge from Vinay Kumar Mishra, he managed to clinch the win by a narrow margin of 36 votes. Vinay Mishra obtained 1257 votes, while Susheel Kumar Singh secured the third place with 1103 votes.
As per the chairman of the Elders Committee,Uma Shankar Gupta, the vote counting was conducted by retired army jawans.
