Jaisalmer: Police busted a notorious gang of two-wheeler thieves and arrested four people, including the gang leader, and recovered 16 stolen motorcycles from them in Barmer district late on Friday night.
Barmer SP Narendra Singh Meena said the breakthrough was done by Barmer district police's DST and Kotwali police station as part of ‘Operation Bhaukaal' being carried out in Jodhpur range on the orders of the IG.
"Special teams were formed under the guidance of CO Ramesh Kumar Sharma, Kotwali police station SHO Lekhraj, DCRB in-charge Mahipal Singh and DST in-charge head constable Premaram to prevent vehicle theft incidents in the city. The team analysed footage from around 200 CCTV cameras in areas where vehicle thefts were occurring. Through intelligence gathering and technical support, they successfully identified and apprehended the suspects," he said.
