Ludhiana: A cylinder blast after fire took place in a house in Bhagat Singh Colony near Moti Nagar on Friday night in which a couple received burn injuries. While the woman has received major burn injuries, the husband was injured on his arms. As the woman is in a serious condition, she has been referred to the PGI, Chandigarh, for treatment.
According to the neighbours, the couple originally belonged to Bihar and had come to Ludhiana a few days ago. They were married recently. On Friday night the woman, Kriti, was preparing food while her husband Mohan was also there when suddenly the cylinder caught fire and exploded. As Kriti was standing closer to the cylinder, she received major burn injuries.
After hearing the explosion, the neighbours rushed towards the site and they took the couple to civil hospital for treatment from where Kriti was referred to the PGI for further treatment.
Fire at main dumpsite in Jamalpur
On Saturday afternoon, a fire broke out at the main garbage dumpsite in Jamalpur and the fire brigade was informed about the incident. Sub fire officer Aatish Rai said they were able to control the fire with five fire tenders.
