Hyderabad: BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar has urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to meet with the families of special police constables and address their concerns. The Chief Minister, who is also in charge of the Home Department, had previously promised to implement the ‘Ek Police’ system in Telangana. This system would ensure that all police personnel in the state are treated equally, similar to policies in neighboring Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Despite this promise, the families of Telangana State Special Police constables have taken to the streets, demanding that the constables be treated with dignity. One of their main concerns is the current system, which only allows these constables to visit their families once a month. So far, the government has not responded to their demands.

Praveen Kumar highlighted that the family members of these constables are being mistreated, sometimes even physically beaten. He questioned why the Chief Minister has not yet met with them to resolve their problems, especially since he also oversees the Home Department. He emphasized the need for the government to respect the rights of all citizens, as outlined in the Constitution of India.

In addition to addressing police grievances, Praveen Kumar also criticized the Congress government for not fulfilling its promises to the unemployed. During the elections, Congress had pledged to fill all backlog government posts before releasing new job notifications, but this has not been done yet.
